Humber, Coast and Vale Health and Care Partnership has announced its strategic objectives for 2021-22.
The objectives are split into four different categories, starting with its pandemic response, followed by delivering the partnership’s operating plan 2021/22, development of the integrated care system, and to manage the transition to new arrangements for integrated care systems (aligned to the White Paper). Each objective has several ‘actions’ that will contribute to achieving each objective.
As part of the pandemic response objective, the partnership aims to continue: “Supporting local systems and organisations in the response to COVID 19 and the associated resetting and redesign of services and functions.”
Professor Stephen Eames, Independent Chair and System Lead, Humber, Coast and Vale Health and Care Partnership, commented: “The pandemic has been extremely tough for our patients and our staff, which is why, in delivering the HCV Partnership’s 21/22 Operating Plan, we will support the health and wellbeing of staff and invest in recruitment and retention of our workforce and establish governance to ensure our people receive the high-quality care they deserve.
“We will also recover and transform our mental health and learning disabilities services, expand capacity in primary care to improve access and transform community and urgent and emergency services.”
The operating plan 2021/22 has 12 separate objectives and addresses the financial factors that affect the providers, in particular, the partnership is aiming to “deliver the 2021/22 financial plan” and improve staff welfare by “taking action on recruitment and retention.” Those actions are followed up by plans to “establish a System Quality Board to ensure that patients and citizens receive high-quality care.”
The move to an integrated care system is hoped to support the region implement the Humber, Coast and Vale population health management programme, upgrade primary care facilities and tackle health inequalities.
