HEE has announced £10 million in new funding to go directly towards expanding the number of placements for people studying nursing, midwifery and selected allied health professions.
The goal is to deliver an additional 50,000 nurses as part of the Long Term Plan.
Professor Mark Radford, Chief Nurse, Health Education England said: “This is fantastic news in support of expanding healthcare workforce in collaboration with Universities. These additional placements will expand the pipeline of our future workforce, meaning more healthcare professionals across health and social care system.”
“We will be working directly with Universities, the NHS and other system providers to ensure the placements are provided in those areas of most need across the country.”
NHS Systems and Service providers including social care, general practice and other providers can bid for this money up to July 17.
